Owen Grier is a partner in our tax practice. Owen was educated at Baruch College, the City University of New York and the State University of New York at Albany. He is a CPA and a member of the NYS Society of Certified Public Accountants. He has over ten years of practicing accounting and has been a CPA since 2001.
Owen has worked extensively in accounting, audit and taxation, both in industry (banking, insurance and wealth management) and at various CPA firms in the tri-state area. His work experience is complimented by international experience gained in the financial centers of Hong Kong, Canada, Singapore and the United Kingdom working for foreign banks with US tax compliance issues.
Prior to joining Les S. Thompson & Co., LLP, Owen had a tax practice in Queens, NY that specialized in serving small businesses, not-for-profits and high net worth individuals, primarily in the areas of tax compliance, planning and preparation. His focus is on ensuring that, through proper and proactive tax planning, he can add value to the tax preparation process so that clients maximize their refunds or reduce their tax liabilities. Providing knowledgeable, prompt and high value service to our fast growing tax clients is paramount to their success and our business.

Lucy Tupaz is an Audit Manager in our assurance practice. She has over fifteen years of solid audit experience primarily with Big 4 firms in Asia and an International Audit Firm in the United States. Prior to joining Les S. Thompson she was Audit Manager at BDO Seidman LLP (New York City office) for two years. Lucy was with KPMG for ten years working in countries like Cambodia, Vietnam, Mongolia and the Solomon Islands and two years with SGV and Co. CPA (premier audit firm in the Philippines and currently a member firm of Ernst and Young International). She has diverse industry experience in both public and private companies like the audit of advertising and media, financial services (hedge fund, broker dealer, commercial banks and micro-finance), hotels, manufacturing, trading, construction, telecommunication, public utilities, agriculture (oil palm plantation, forestry), not-for profit (including grants from the United States Aid for International Development (USAID), World Bank funded Projects, Asian Development Bank (ADB) funded Projects, United Nations Development Program (UNDP), other UN agencies Projects and other non-government organizations requiring audit in accordance with the US Single Audit Act or A-133 Compliance). Lucy is a member of the New York State Society Of Certified Public Accountants and a professional member of the Philippine Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Cambodian Institute of Certified Public Accountants and Auditors.

Kristine Chinsio holds a Bachelor of Science in Accountancy from the University of san Iloilo, Philippines. She is slated to become the supervisor in the field, and trainer of all staff auditors using her experience in the Commercial sector in the New York area. Presently, she pursues the CPA and the CIA certification. She is a member of the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants.
Shirley Harris is the Administrative Assistant responsible for the Human Resources, Purchases, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Day to Day operations of the firm. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and continually refreshes her skills by attending seminars and training in the areas of management and technology.
